A Plague of Miracles

It's the day before Advent at St. Martin's Catholic Church in San Francisco, and the church's 45 year-old pastor is living in dread. After every ninth birthday, since he was a boy, God has inflicted miracles on Father Thomas Brennnigan. Miracles that have disrupted his life, and the life of his family. And so when people at his church start being healed of their infirmities after handling the church's Christmas decorations, Father Brennigan knows the only way to get away from the crowds of miracle seekers will be to move far away. Again.

But this time it's different. This time, Brennigan finds out what he needs to do to be free: find an angel. An angel that has gone rogue. An angel who has forgotten its true nature. An angel he fears might even be his own sister. And persuade that angel to return to Heaven. All before Christmas Day.

A Plague of Miracles was a finalist for the 2010 Global Age Project at Aurora Theatre in Berekely, California. It received a reading from the Playwrights' Center of San Francisco in October, 2011.
